COMPRION and Rohde & Schwarz Announce First Release of Test Cases for 5G SA USIM/USAT Handset Testing

COMPRION and Rohde & Schwarz are proud to announce the first release of test cases for 5G SA USIM/USAT handset testing on GCF/PTCRB test platform TP227.

Leading test expert COMPRION is proud to release the first test cases on COMPRION SIMfony CMX500 for 5G NR USIM handset conformance testing according to GCF WI-508-NR and PTCRB RFT 508. These test cases contain tests defined in 3GPP TS 31.121 v15.7.0. The COMPRION solution is offered in cooperation with Rohde & Schwarz, a worldwide leading provider of test and measurement solutions. The test platform is listed as test platform TP227 at the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and PTCRB.

COMPRION SIMfony CMX500 consists of the Rohde & Schwarz network simulators R&S CMX500 and R&S CMW500 and the COMPRION (U)SIM Simulator UT³ Platform for 5G NR USIM/USAT conformance testing. The tests will be submitted for GCF/PTCRB validation shortly. This solution is also available with COMPRION’s Prove 2 pre-conformance test tool.

UT³ Platform is the heart of the COMPRION terminal test solution and is validated as a platform for conformance testing at GCF, PTCRB, EMVCo, and NFC Forum. In addition to conformance testing, it is a fully configurable analog and logical card simulator for testing mobile phones and NFC-enabled devices with focus on contact and contactless smart card interface technologies.

The R&S CMX500 test setup from Rohde & Schwarz provides a 5G network simulation to establish a real-time connection between the simulator and the 5G mobile device, which is prerequisite for the USIM/USAT procedures verified by the COMPRION SIMfony software. In combination with the industry-proven R&S CMW500, it enables customers to use the same setup for legacy technologies, so that 2G, 3G, LTE, NB-IoT, eMTC and 5G NR are all supported in an integrated solution.
