COMPRION has announced that its PICC Analog Test Solution is now officially qualified for the latest EMVCo 3.2a specification. The digital part of COMPRION’s EMVCo PICC solution was already qualified back in February. This means the COMPRION PICC Test Solution is now fully up-to-date and compliant with the EMVCo PICC 3.2a standard.
EMVCo develops EMV® standards to make card and mobile device payments secure and interoperable worldwide. The organization regularly revises these technical standards in order to adapt them to new device classes, technological advancements and new markets. A distinction is made between PICC and PCD. While PICC refers to the card/mobile payment device side, PCD refers to the payment terminal side.
In the latest PICC specification version 3.2a, there were mainly changes on the analog side. In order to provide a better test coverage within version 3.2a, EMVCo has introduced a new EMV Test PCD antenna design (EMV – TEST PCD). The specification updates include the verification of the PICC influence on the field test case and an update of the load modulation amplitude acceptance criteria. These latest requirements were implemented on the COMPRION´s PICC Analog Test Solution (consisting of the conformance system UT³ Platform, a Kawasaki industrial robot with the corresponding antennas) and have now been qualified.
