UL Chooses COMPRION's NFC Forum Test Solution

The American safety consulting and certification company Underwriters Laboratories (UL) equips their lab with COMPRION’s UT³ Platform conformance test solution. Mike Kuo, General Manager, North America explains, "We selected COMPRION as our test platform for its advanced automation and precise programming capabilities.”

UL is the first laboratory in the United States offering the complete NFC Forum type approval including the latest 2015 requirements. Ralph Kamp, Product Manager NFC at COMPRION comments, “We are pleased to supply UL with an NFC test solution, thus supporting their important work to make NFC ready and reliable for the market.”

Mobile phone manufacturers implementing the NFC interface specified by NFC Forum need to receive type approval by a validated test laboratory. NFC allows simple and safe two-way communications between electronic devices. This enables consumers to perform contactless transactions, access digital content, and connect electronic devices with a single touch.

UT³ Platform is a system that runs tests belonging to all three parts of the NFC Forum compliance program (Analog, Digital, LLCP/SNEP) in a highly automated way. Type approval demands that the test results be reproducible.
