The cost-effective way to test your RSP back-end servers against the eSIM
Our lean software solution for testing OTA remote provisioning of non-soldered (e)UICCs reduces complexity and costs dramatically.
It doesn’t matter if M2M or Consumer Devices is your business: you don’t need a network or a network simulator as our software bridges the complete over-the-air communication!
Overview
The COMPRION Network Bridge provides a direct connection between backend servers and unsoldered (e)UICCs for various purposes, including:
Who is it for?
The COMPRION Network Bridge is relevant for various professionals and organizations, including:
COMPRION Network Bridge provides a simulation of the mobile network including relevant core network components and mobile equipment:
Mobile Device Emulation
Replaces real mobile devices, particularly in M2M or Consumer Device environments, following ETSI and 3GPP standards. Offers base functionalities for managing USIM, ISIM, and CSIM applications.
Virtual Mobile Network
SMSC Server Simulation forwards short messages received from a remote entity via a TCP/IP connection to Mobile Equipment Simulation and response SMS from the Mobile Equipment Simulation to a remote entity. Packet Gateway Simulation establishes IP connections between external clients/servers and the Mobile Equipment Simulation. Home Subscriber Server Simulation manages Subscription Management and Network Authentication capabilities for security algorithms like Milenage, TUAK, UMTS Test Algorithm, CAVE, and 5G Security. Radio Access Network Simulation accommodates various network topologies such as GSM, UTRAN, E-UTRAN, NG-RAN, and CDMA2000.
Local Profile Administration Simulation
Handles local profile management tasks, including profile activation, deactivation, deletion, metadata inquiries, eUICC memory resets, eUICC test memory resets, setting/editing nicknames, adding profiles, and editing default SM-DP+ addresses.
Interoperability Testing according to GSMA SGP.02 (RSP for M2M Devices)
In the GSMA M2M architecture, the SM-DP prepares the profiles to be securely provisioned to the eSIM and manages the secure download and installation of these profiles. The SM-SR securely performs functions of platform management commands (for example, eUICC capability audit, enable, disable and delete profile) and the transport of profile management commands (for example, download and installation).
Individual configurations of virtual mobile network and mobile equipment simualtion allow the exution of different test scenarios. A comprehensive visualization of the communication flow allows you to inspect all details of the communication between the involved entities (SM-DP+, LPA, and eUICC).
Interoperability Testing according to GSMA SGP.22 (RSP for Consumer Devices)
In the GSMA consumer devices architecture, the SM-DP+ is responsible for the management and the protection of profiles. The SM-DP+ binds protected profile packages to the respective EID and securely downloads these bound profile packages to the LPA of the respective eSIM.
The LPA simulation provides the local profile management operations including enable profile, disable profile, delete profile, query profile metadata, eUICC memory reset, eUICC test memory reset, set/edit nickname, add profile, and edit default SM-DP+ address. A comprehensive visualization of the communication flow allows you to inspect all details of the communication between the involved entities (SM-DP+, LPA and eUICC).
Interoperability Testing of Remote File & Application Management
This testing aligns with standards such as ETSI TS 102 226 and GlobalPlatform Card Specification – Amendment B. Over-the-air (OTA) updates of mobile devices are well-known technology in the telecommunications area and also considered in the RSP specifications. For example, mobile operators can send OTA updates via SMS to modify configuration details of a profile (remote file management – RFM), deploy new applications (remote application management – RAM).
The test setup shown for RSP for M2M Devices, consisting of an MNO remote administration server, the virtual mobile network, and device, can be used for different purposes:
Mitigating the risk of negative business consequences of de-facto interoperability issues by an cost efficient managed testing service.
