Renowned test tool provider COMPRION launches new service that provides eSIM test profiles to near-market-ready and fully commercial eSIM devices which fulfill the GSMA SAS security requirements.

 

Testing eSIMs and respective devices requires loading test eSIM profiles onto the devices. Unlike testing under laboratory conditions, for market-ready devices there is the additional challenge: how can a service that facilitates testing connect to the eSIM of a device that is included in the security realm that applies for live commercial services.

This security realm has been specified by the mobile industry and the GSMA, which represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, through the GSMASecurity Accreditation Scheme (SAS). It covers all components, from eSIM manufacturing process to the eSIMs themselves as well as the Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) services. This level of security is important as a security gap could lead to data breaches, commercial fraud, and jeopardize the integrity of the network.

As the customary tools for provisioning test profiles to eSIM devices are not part of GSMA SAS, testing of near-market and commercial devices with test eSIM profiles were virtually impossible until now.

COMPRION's new eSIM Test Profile Service addresses this challenge by providing the profile in the mandatory GSMA SAS-compliant security level and enabling testing of eSIM devices. It supports all devices that use a GSMA Remote SIM Provisioning mechanism according to the specification for consumer devices.

The eSIM Test Profile Service also offers a growing number of pre-built test profiles applicable to the most common test scenarios and allows the configuration of customer specific test profiles on demand. I.e., customers who have created their very own test profiles using COMPRION’s eUICC Profile Manager can now extend their testing to market-ready devices.

COMPRION offers the service in an easily accessible subscription model in a fully online end-to-end process from order to delivery with click-through contracting.
