COMPRION is one of fifteen founders (twelve companies and three educational institutions) of the non-profit organization "Paderborn ist Informatik e.V.", which was established on January 20, 2016.
The aim of the organization is to promote IT as a science and to attract young people to IT jobs. Until now, the initiative "Paderborn ist Informatik" has been a loose association for projects such as the mentoring program "girls4IT" – which is also actively supported by COMPRION – and sponsoring of the first Lego League competition in the world's biggest computer museum "Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum". Andrea Wnendt, Personnel Development Manager at COMPRION explains: "As the association is now officially registered, "Paderborn ist Informatik" can implement more projects that promote IT apprenticeships and encourage young people to engage in IT-related topics."
