COMPRION's eSIM Tracer now supports MediaTek chipsets. With the new adapter, developers, device manufacturers, and mobile network operators can analyze communication between the cellular modem and embedded eSIMs or iSIMs across an even broader range of devices.

COMPRION has expanded the capabilities of its eSIM Tracer solution by adding support for MediaTek chipsets. This new adapter complements the existing Qualcomm and Samsung Exynos adapters, further extending device coverage and enabling analysis across a wider range of today's mobile devices. These include devices powered by MediaTek selected Dimensity series, which are used in selected smartphones from manufacturers such as Motorola, Oppo and vivo.

Bringing Transparency to eSIM Communication

The eSIM Tracer is an innovative software solution designed to capture and analyze communication between the cellular modem and embedded eSIMs or iSIMs. Because these secure elements are soldered directly onto the device's circuit board, the traditional physical SIM interface is no longer available for diagnostic and analysis purposes. As a result, identifying the root causes of integration or interoperability issues can be significantly more challenging.

COMPRION's eSIM Tracer closes this gap. The solution combines powerful monitoring software with chipset-specific APDU tracing adapters, enabling real-time capture of communication between the cellular modem and the eSIM. Captured data is presented in a structured, easy-to-analyze format and enhanced with context-sensitive protocol decoding, allowing engineers to quickly understand and investigate complex technical processes.

More Devices, More Possibilities

The solution is particularly valuable for mobile network operators (MNOs), device manufacturers, and chipset vendors. Issues related to eSIM integration, activation, or communication can be identified and resolved efficiently during development, certification, or field operation. With the addition of MediaTek support, COMPRION significantly expands the device coverage of the eSIM Tracer and provides customers with an even more comprehensive platform for analyzing modern eSIM- and iSIM-enabled devices.
