New versions of COMPRION’s CCC Digital Key BLE End-to-End Interoperability Test Bench Stage 1 have been released, providing automakers with a proven and reliable tool for evaluating Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)–based Digital Key communication.
The new release R2.0 implements the test cases as specified in "Digital Key End-to-End Interoperability: Test Suite Part 6: Bluetooth Sniffing Test Cases Version 1.0". COMPRION verified all test cases using CCC authorized IDL devices. As this area of test cases is highly dynamic, addition Change Requests already exist today. It is very likely that these will become part of a future official version of the test cases.
To address this, COMPRION has also released a second version of the Test Bench, R2.0.1 with unapproved CRs, which already incorporates these proposed changes. This allows users to anticipate upcoming updates and consider them in their current testing activities.
COMPRION and the CCC are also working to finalize the test specification so that, in the near future, a new release of the Test Bench can be officially validated by the CCC.
Starting with R2.0, we support automated HCI log file handling for Android devices: the previously manual transfer of HCI data from the smartphone to the test laptop is now fully automated. This makes BLE testing faster, more efficient, and less error-prone.
The test benches are part of COMPRION’s Digital Key test portfolio and support the industry in reliably testing BLE communication for CCC Digital Key applications. Alongside NFC, BLE is a core transmission technology for convenient vehicle access solutions, and early, precise testing helps manufacturers ensure interoperability and identify potential issues at an early stage.
