Last week a GlobalPlatform Test Session took place at COMPRION headquarters - an important step on the way to the certification of eUICCs.
While the GSMA defines and specifies the standards for card qualification, the actual certification is done through the GlobalPlatform certification program. To ensure that the test tools and test benches in use meet the latest specifications, GlobalPlatform organizes Test Sessions and Test Fests. While Test Fests are used to validate and certify test tools, Test Sessions are used to prepare for Test Fests. The final certification of the cards takes place later in specialized test labs.
The recent test session at COMPRION was the final rehearsal for the crucial Test Fest in the last quarter of 2024 and brought together card manufacturers and two test tool vendors. The focus was on three central test specifications:
With approximately 600 test cases per test card, we were able to gain important insights during live sessions to improve the test specifications. This also allowed us to draw important conclusions for the correct implementation of the test tool. The event was therefore an siginficant step for the qualification of the tools and the subsequent certification of the cards for the market.
