Applus+ Laboratories and COMPRION Collaborate on GlobalPlatform eUICC Conformance Testing

Top-Quality and Neutrality for Successful Certification Processes
Applus+ Laboratories, a leading testing and certification service provider, and the test solution provider COMPRION have entered into a groundbreaking partnership to offer comprehensive testing services for GlobalPlatform eUICC conformance testing. Thanks to this collaboration, manufacturers benefit from high-quality standards and a neutral testing environment – the ideal combination for reliable and successful certification processes.
Applus+ Laboratories relies on COMPRION’s GlobalPlatform-qualified test solution to provide both official conformance testing as a GlobalPlatform-accredited lab and additional use cases, such as quality acceptance testing and development testing.
The COMPRION test solution consists of the “Connectivity Test Center (CTC)” software, the test benches and a PC/SC reader or custom hardware.
What is being tested?
GlobalPlatform Certification aims to ensure that eUICCs comply with the following test specifications and function seamlessly:
- GSMA SGP.23 RSP for Consumer Devices: An update to the existing specification.
- GSMA SGP.33 for eSIM IoT: A new test specification for IoT products.
- TCA eUICC Profile Package: Interoperable Format: An update to the existing specification for Consumer Devices and eSIM IoT.
Applus+ Laboratories already provides testing services for Consumer Devices according to Version 2.x of the specifications. For the new specifications – Consumer Devices Version 3.x and IoT devices – COMPRION is currently working closely with GlobalPlatform to certify its test tools, which are expected to be completed by February 2025.
